Microsoft has recently resolved a bug in Windows 10, version 22H2, which was causing issues with the Start Menu jump lists for all apps. This bug impacted users’ ability to access recently opened files and tasks through the right-click menu on app icons in the Start Menu or Taskbar.
The jump list feature, which allows quick access to recent files, became unusable for many users. The issue was linked to a Controlled Feature Rollout (CFR) introduced in March 2025, aimed at improving account management for Windows 10 users. However, user reports pointed out that the new feature caused problems with the jump list, especially for Windows 10 Home and Pro editions.
In response to user feedback, Microsoft paused the rollout of this update in late April 2025 to prevent further issues. The company confirmed that no new devices would be affected after April 25, 2025, and that systems already impacted should no longer experience the bug after that date.
