About the Role
We’re looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Bolingbrook, IL. You’ll design, build, and maintain scalable backend services that power our core products. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and collaborating with a cross-functional team.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain robust backend APIs and services
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and frontend engineers to ship new features
- Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
- Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and reliability
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technical documentation
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in backend software development
- Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (e.g., Python, Java, Node.js, Go)
- Experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with RESTful API design and microservices architecture
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Understanding of version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to commute to our Bolingbrook, IL office as needed
Nice to Have
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka)
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum development practices
